ghd hair straightener review and my thoughts

Finding the best straightener for your hair can be quite exhausting–there are so many different hair straighteners on the market at so many different prices! This leaves us at a loss as to which one to choose. However, in this post, I'll share with you the details about the straighteners I use, which have been with me for a long time and have met my needs. I hope you find it useful.

We women feel so much better when our hair is tidy, don't we? These tools give us the feeling of having left a beauty salon at home. If you're here because you want to find out more about the "GHD hair straightener review and my thoughts" I'm here to share my experience with you.

Currently, I'm enjoying a healthy hair phase after dyeing it so much, so I've been avoiding using too much heat. Additionally, I exercise a lot and have to wash my hair frequently.

Therefore, when the weekend comes and I want to boost my self-esteem, I promptly take my GHD straightener, iconic ceramic, out of the drawer.

This hair tool is one of the most simple and basic models from GHD brand, but it is a "very gentle and efficient hair straightener." This is an older model, and a better version has already been released, but I won't trade mine for any other until it breaks.

GHD hair straightener review and my thoughts explained

The hair straightener has a certain charm. Despite being basic, it is quite beautiful. I've heard many times if the inside of a hair straightener is coloured, it isn't good. After using this GHD hair tool, I can confirm that this is a myth and that my straightener is just as efficient as those with a silver interior.

The GHD hair straightener is ceramic and heats up quite a lot. It has a simple on/off button and an LED that turn red and blinks when switched on.

What is the functionality of hair straighteners?

Generally, hair straighteners work like an iron: you plug them in, and the metal part starts to heat up. The heat causes the hydrogen bonds in the hair to break ( the same process that happens with wet hair). The straightening tool passes through the hair, changing its shape from curly to straight or frizzy to straight, and it stays that way when the hair cools down.

What I like most about this GHD hair straightener is its long cable. The plug can be on the other side of the room, which is the case for me at home, and it stretches far enough. I couldn't find information about the length of the cable, but I tried to measure it and it was impossible as it is longer than my measuring tape, meaning it is over 1 metre long.

Here is a photo of me with my hair straightened with the GHD hair straightener, I think it is perfect, and delivers what it says on the product packaging.
The straighteners take 20 to 30 seconds to heat up, it has a temperature up to 180 degrees, automatic sleep mode, ultra gloss-plates and a universal voltage, a triangular hinge shape which makes it more resistant to breakage.

I always have to be careful with this tool as it gets very hot, so it's important to protect your surfaces. I bought this plastic heat-proof mat to put under the hair straighteners every time I use them.

Where to find the ghd hair straightener ?

Even though this straightener is old, it's still possible to find it for sale, I found exactly the same one on Amazon for very cheap price. This post isn't a paid advertisement, it's just my honest opinion about the brand and product.

The takeaway

I love seeing my hair straightened without having to use chemicals to do it. I like this idea of having it straight and then returning to its natural waviness after washing it. I don't see the need for such an expensive hair straightener when a cheaper, good quality one has the same effect. I hope this post "GHD hair straightener review and my thoughts" helps you make the right decision when purchasing your hair straightener.
